Tabbathia Habould-Magee , llama and alpaca breeder and yarn designer
Tabbethia Haubold-Magee is the owner of Long Island Yarn and Farm in Yaphank, Long Island. A passionate breeder and master shearer of llamas and alpacas, she also raises angora goats, sheep, and rabbits on the 17-acre farm, where she hosts educational activities for families and kids. Tabbethia lectures on llama care at fiber festivals, and welcomes visitors at the farm, to connect with the llamas and “put a face with the fiber.”
Fiber enthusiasts come to her for fleeces, roving, and limited edition American-raised and -spun artisanal fibers. Knitters and non-knitters alike appreciate her unique line of primarily organic lanolin-based skincare products.
PRESENTATION: The Secrets of Raising Llamas and Creating Luxurious Fibers.
From her studio, Tabbethia will talk about the farm, her award-winning llamas, and the technical as well as design considerations involved in creating heavenly soft fibers and yarn. There will be a trunk show of designs and raffles. A discount code for purchases and shipping will be provided.
